7. Nothing herein contained shall be deemed to confer any special concession to the Company, or af- fect the right of the Government to grant similar pri- vileges to any other Telegraph Company who may apply for the same.
8. The Company shall not work their Telegraph under exclusive privileges.
9. The Company will at all times give priority
to the messages of the Government, whether British or
Colonial.
10. The Government shall have power to take possession of the Company's Stations, &c., in the
event of any emergency arising which in the opinion of the Government may render such course expedient, subject to reasonable compensation being given by Her Majesty's Government for any loss that may be incurred by the non-transmission of commercial messages.
11. In case the Government or the Company shall be desirous of cancelling this Agreement so far as it relates to the use of the Government Telegraph by the Company, either party shall be at liberty to do so upon giving to the other six months notice of such desire, or such longer notice as may be necessary to enable the Company to erect a separate Telegraphic communication between the Block House and their Offices in Victoria.

In case such notice for the cancelling of this Agreement be given by the Government the Company shall be entitled to a refund of such a fair and
